The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) recently upgraded their company registration interface to incorporate Artificial Intelligence system (Ai) to speed up company registration in Nigeria. The recent interface now merged the pre-incorporation and post incorporation together.
The essence of this blog is to educate and inform you about some of the changes that are available in this upgraded interface.

What are the things you need to know about the upgraded interface?
If you are an accredited user with CAC, these are for you:
Because of the Artificial Intelligence integrated into the registration site, if you had more than one account with CAC with the same email address you might not be able to login to your account. You will have to disable one account to be able to use the 2nd account.
- A Two Factor Authenticator have been activated in the site. Once you login to CAC site a two-factor authenticator code (OTP) will be sent to your email to enable you complete your login process. This email is the registered email with CAC, if you do not have access to such email you will not login to the portal.
- Once you are logged in, even if there is delay in the registration process you won’t be logged out. Unlike the old interface that logs you out once there is delay.
- The pre-incorporation and post-incorporation can be accessed from one site unlike the old interface where the pre-incorporation site and post-incorporation sites were distinct.
- The date of birth of the witness to Memart are now required in the registration process.
- The ID card format for the registration is either pdf or jpeg unlike the old interface that requires only pdf format.
- Approval for name search comes immediately payment is approved. Note that there is no room for downloading the notice of name reservation. You can only screenshot it.
- If your intended name is not available the Ai will suggest names that you can edit to suit your business for a token of #200 only. You do not have to spend monies on countless name searches.
- In the process of conducting a name search if you choose a general object clause, you cannot edit same while doing the registration. Unlike the old interface that allows for edit while registering. Be careful what you add while reserving a name.
- If you don’t have a laptop or computer, you can comfortably start and complete your registration with your phone.
- Birth certificates are not used for children shareholders again. It is NIN (National Identity Number)
- If you are not an accredited user with CAC you cannot access the portal. The portal is not open to the public unlike the old registration portal.

Note that the site is still not working properly as it should. The commission is still working on the site and so some of the features on the site is still malfunctioning.
Note also that the date for CAC fee increase has been shifted from 1st August to 1st September 2025 due to system upgrade.
In conclusion, change is constant and it is inevitable also. The changes in the CAC site are a welcome development as the world has transcended to Artificial Intelligence. The users need patience to get optimum result from the site. The customers also should understand that technology advancement is not a day’s job, it is a work in progress and so is the new CAC interface. Enjoy the new features and faster service delivery!
